Diamonds with little color are very rare and are highly valued. A colorless diamond will demand a higher price. But you don't have to pick a colorless diamond to pick a great stone.

Diamonds have tiny imperfections within the stone, referred to as flaws. Clarity is graded by the size, quantity, location and type of flaws.

Carat (Ct) is often confused with size, but it is actually a measure of its weight. The price of a diamond is closely tied to the carat weight. 

Diamonds are fashioned into a number of different shapes. The most popular shapes are round (also known as brilliant), marquise, pear, oval, emerald, princess, radiant and heart.
